The track is transcribed in the original key, B Flat Major, and uses many extended and inverted major and minor chords. I wish Koreans abandon this approach to ballad-writing, it doesn't elevate songs at all.
“Never Ending Story” is composed with straight rhythm in the common time with double feel. The intro is in triple meter 3/4.
The left-hand provides a bare accompaniment.
The right hand imitates vocal delivery by IU: the predominant articulation is tenuto. IU never does any inflections or vocal portamento.
Notice fermata (𝄐). Hold the pause one measure.
In the intro use arpeggiato (𝆃) everywhere.
The aesthetic value of the track suffers due to lack of novelty.
